Common questions before reaching out
Do I need to have existing documentation to start?
No. We work from whatever state you're currently in — scattered notes, oral knowledge, partial configs. The whole point of the documentation engagement is to build a reference from scratch if needed.
Can I start with just one service and add more later?
Yes. Each engagement is self-contained. There's no requirement to bundle them, and no pressure to continue past the agreed deliverable. Many teams start with an architecture review before deciding whether documentation or migration planning makes sense next.
How long does a typical engagement take?
It varies by service. Architecture reviews typically run one to two weeks. Documentation engagements are usually three weeks. Migration roadmaps depend on complexity but are typically two to four weeks from initial scope agreement.
Is there a minimum commitment?
Each service is priced as a single engagement. There are no retainers or minimum number of engagements required. We'd rather you start with something scoped correctly than commit to more than you need.
